Experience

Helen is a registered and endorsed Counselling Psychologist with over 30 years experience working with children, adolescents, families, individual adults and groups. Helen is a Senior Psychologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital for over 20 years and brings a wealth of clinical and therapeutic knowledge and skill. Additionally, she is a regular guest lecturer at Swinburne University psychology department and supervises clinicians in the area of trauma-informed practice.

Key focus areas

Helen has particular interest and expertise in the area of trauma and the application of neuroscience findings to therapeutic change. Helen is an experienced trainer and supervisor of intern, registrar and fully registered psychologists.

Achievements

Helen has a PhD in psychology, is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and is a Fellow of the APS College of Counselling Psychologists. Helen has worked in welfare, school and hospital settings in clinical, managerial and research roles and she has a PhD in the area of trauma work.
